The accurate identification of skin phototype is one of the most important factors in order to achieve the best results in the minimum number of sessions. According to the Fitzpatrick scale, there are six different phototypes (I-VI). The fairest skins have a better capacity to accept a greater amount of energy with the least risk of undesired effects, while darker skin phototypes are the most highly limiting ones for certain types of emission.

That’s the reason why elysion-pro has been designed as a work platform that allows to choose different wavelengths in a single device, enabling the highly demanded versatility and precision.

  • 755nm: effective on fair skins, enables to permanently remove the finest and less pigmented hair, including the residual hair of the last sessions.
  • 810nm: indicated to work on all skin phototypes as well as all types of hair.
  • COMB (810+940+1060nm): guarantees maximum safety and efficacy in dark phototypes with strong and dense hair.

  1. What is laser hair removal?

    The aim of LASER hair removal is to destroy the hair follicle so that the hair does not appear again. To achieve this result, a LASER capable of reaching the follicle is used. The light energy applied is absorbed by the melanin and is converted into heat, destroying the follicle without affecting the surrounding tissues.

  2. How does elysion-pro work?

    Elysion-pro works using the selective photothermolysis principle. This consists in transmitting the LASER beam while affecting the melanin (which gives hair its color) and destroying the follicle without damaging the skin in the process. Elysion-pro works with the exclusive “crystal freeze” system. This is a cooling system based on TRT (thermal relaxation time), which is the time necessary for skin to recover its original temperature after the application of the LASER beam. This exclusive system works by maintaining a constant temperature of 6ºC at the tip of the handpiece, producing a pleasant sensation on the skin during hair removal.

  3. Is hair removal with elysion pro suitable for all skin types?

    Skin types are classified on a scale from I to VI depending on the color of the hair and the skin, as well as its tanning capacity. According to Fitzpatrick, skin type number I is defined by people with a very pale complexion and red hair or blonde hair, while skin type number VI is defined by people with very dark skin who, usually, also have strong and dark hair. elysion-pro makes it possible to remove hair on all skin types, including tanned skins, which means hair removal sessions can continue in summer. This is thanks to its four wavelengths (750nm, 810nm, 940nm and 1060nm) than can be used with the platform.

  4. Is laser hair removal definitive?

    LASER hair removal prevents hair growth by destroying and eliminating permanently the follicle. However, it can only be effective on active follicles (those in the anagen phase during the hair removal session). The inactive follicles will eventually reach the anagen phase and, thus, will be eliminated in the following sessions.

  5. How many sessions are needed?

    The length of the treatment will be influenced by the type of hair, area to be treated and the specific needs of each patient. Generally, the number of sessions will vary between 6 and 10, always depending on the criteria of the professional.

  6. How long does each session last?

    Hair removal with elysion-pro is fast. The length of every session depends on the size of the area. It can vary between 10 minutes (upper lip) and between 30 and 60 minutes (full legs).

  7. Do elysion-pro treatments have any side-effects?

    The counter-indications for LASER hair removal are minimum. However, it is not recommended to have this kind of treatments done during pregnancy or if there are active skin or mucous infections or tattoos in the treatment area. It is also counter-indicated for people with oncological diseases and/or under treatment for them.
