Aptos is a combination of cosmetic threads and methods of installation. it has been invented by Dr2. Marlen Sulamanidze in 1996 and developed by Dr. George and Konstantin Sulamanidzes.

Threads are absorbable and permanent single-use sutures used for face and body lifting, contouring and armouring.

Aptos thread lift is a popular procedure to achieve facial & body refreshment and improve skin quality without having to undergo surgery and the problem of scarring. The procedure is called a minimally invasive with a minimum of downtime.

  • Apply ice packs immediately after the procedure
  • Take analgesics in case of pain for 2-3 days
  • Refrain from applying make-up for minimum 24 hours
  • Sleep face up, in an elevated position for about 3-5 nights
  • Wash face gently without rubbing or massaging for 5-7 days
  • Avoid excessive face and neck movements for about 2 weeks
  • Avoid face and neck massages for 1 month
  • Avoid over-exposure to direct sunlight for 2 weeks
  • Avoid sports and exercise for 2 weeks
  • Do not use saunas for about 3 weeks
  • Avoid dental surgery for 3 weeks
  • The doctor will prescribe an antibiotic if there is a substantial risk of infection

The procedure is not painful. The treatment is performed under local anesthesia. The procedure does not leave scars, is short and needs a minimum of downtime.

  • Auto-immune diseases: scleroderma, sarcoidosis, amyloidosis, etc.
  • Anti-coagulant medication: coumarin & heparin (aspirin?)

  • Neurological and mental disorders
  • Pregnancy, brreastfeeding
  • Malignancy/Chemotherapy
  • Hepatitis B & C, HIV
  • Porphyria

Like all procedures of this type, there is a possibility of side effects, although not everybody experiences them. These side effects include:

  • Pain
  • Swelling
  • Temporal asymmetry
  • Transient rippling or dimple formation
  • Transient hematoma or bruising
  • A slight depression or skin irregularity
  • Inflammation

These inconveniences should disappear a few days after treatment. If you experience any side effects, you should talk to your doctor.

No special preparation is required prior to APTOS thread lift.

However, it is recommended to discuss your expectations and ask your doctor any questions you have before starting treatment.

Inform the doctor of any treatment you have already received and of any medicines, you are currently taking.

Ideal candidates for thread lifts include people with minimal signs of aging who need just a small lift. Usually, these are women and men between 30 and 55.

Right candidates are those patients who have

Poor candidates

  • Those patients who have excessively sagging skin at an advanced age will show a very limited improvement.
